Best DJ Controllers 2019:
an extended review
In the past few years, the market has exploded with a plethora of great choices for the DJ searching for a dedicated, all-in-one controller. This article is meant to help you find the best DJ controller for your needs. Deciding on hardware can range from mildly difficult to fairly stressful. Let’s figure out what controller fits you the best.
There are basically three types of DJ controllers according to their price range - premium, midrange. and budget. The first ones are the cream of the crop when it comes to full, in-the-box DJ solutions. They are professional grade, have a high level of hardware/software integration, and are feature-rich. Some examples are Pioneer DDJ-SZ and Numark NS7III. They also come with a premium price tag! Midrange DJ products sit between the mid-and-upper-hundreds price range. Today’s midrange controllers are very club-oriented and complete (just as Traktor Kontrol S4 MK2).
Budget DJ controllers are perfect for beginner DJs and for home parties as they allow you to mix tracks without investing much. Still, there are a lot more factors to decide when buying a controller but we hope we made that choice easier.

Thanks for this amazingly informative article! As a newbie in DJing, it’s hard for me to decide which controller to buy as they all look and feel great. Also, the price tags may be a little overwhelming sometimes. I think budget controllers are perfect for beginner like me. I hope to gain better skills in mixing scratching and using crossfader as I believe it is what any DJ needs to be successful including good music taste.
